Dear visitor,
here’s my first blog, finally! 😅 I’m a digital artist, I love to communicate through pictures more than words.
My creative journey: started in 2020 when I saw creative people share their art on Instagram. After a while I noticed that a lot of the art I liked had the hashtags #glitchart, so I started researching what that was. I found the app “Glitchlab” which has a free version so I installed it and started creating my first digital artworks.
I learned everything myself, never did a tutorial or took a lessson. My way of creating is: taking a picture of nature and afterwards transform it to something else on intuition. I use the apps: “Glitchlab”, “Chromalab”, “Mirrorlab” and “TouchRetouch”. These 4 apps give me the possibility to warp, change colors, use many different effects and also add or delete parts of the original picture.
Spiritual awakening and chronic illness: in this same period (2020) I was pulled into spiritual topics and started doing meditations. In these meditations I saw portals, eyes, nature and space. These topics were also appearing in my art and without a thought out plan my style of spiritual art (or visionary art) was born.
In this same year (remember that year when the shops were closed and people got sick?) I got Covid19 which resulted in me losing my fulltime job, because it stayed in my body causing pain and chronic fatigue. Which wasn’t a positive thing but little did I know how it would change my life! I had more time for my spiritual practices and my new found hobby: creating art!
A few years later I realised I could create art products with my art and start selling them online.
My own company “RonVibesArt”:Â in August of 2024 I started my company officially, calling it “RonVibesArt” which is the name I had used for several years on Instagram on my art account. I use English on my website and on Instagram because I want to communicate with people from around the world. It isn’t my first language, because I am from the Netherlands (Europe) and my first language is Dutch. Hallo Nederlander, erg fijn dat je dit leest en ik hoop dat je het niet erg vindt dat ik verder alles in het Engels doe.
Because of my chronic illness (chronic fatigue, pain, brainfog and more) I had to choose a specific way of selling my products. I would love to go to physical stores and markets to sell my art, but unfortunately I don’t have the energy to do that at the moment. So I depend on selling online and also decided that my website is a “shop window” but not a webshop. That’s why you can see my art here and learn about me on this website www.ronvibesart.com and shop my art goodies elsewhere.
Online shops and other companies I work with online:Â I sell my stickers, prints, cards, custom artworks and phone wallpapers on Etsy. I send internationally, keep in mind that Etsy communicates the prices without tax at first.
You can also buy T-shirts with my art on it on Teepublic. This company produces the shirts and sends them. Sometimes they’ll send it from the USA and sometimes from the EU. They communicate where it will be sent from before you pay, so keep in mind if this might add import taxes in your situation (depending on where you live).
A company that really support all type of artists is Patreon. On Patreon I offer 4 tiers where you can support me. One tier is a monthly tip jar and the other three are subscriptions where you’ll get stickers, small prints and/or cards each month. The subscription prices are including the postal costs and Patreon will add the local taxes (different for each country) but there are no import taxes.
In the future I want to start selling on more websites (for example: I am thinking about selling on a Dutch website, especially for the Netherlands.)
On my website are the links to these shops.
Thank you for reading my first blog, until the next one!
Greetings, Ron Vibes.
